Situs mesin pencari Google ikut andil memperingatkan pengguna dalam mendeteksi virus DNS Changer yang bisa membuat komputer "bingung," sehingga pengguna komputer menganggap koneksi internetnya terputus setelah tanggal 9 Juli 2012.

Jika komputer pengguna terinfeksi DNS Changer, lalu melakukan pencarian menggunakan Google, maka Google akan memberi tahu bahwa komputer tersebut dijangkiti DNS Changer.

"Peringatan itu akan muncul di atas kolom kata kunci usai pengguna melakukan pencarian," kata teknisi keamanan Google, Damian Menscher kepada situs teknologi CNet.
